The Vision
The Kiwi Adventure Bike Muster exists to become New Zealand's annual home for adventure riders.
Not a trade show. Not a race meeting. Not a corporate expo. A weekend where riders from New Zealand and around the world gather in the heart of the High Country to ride extraordinary roads, camp under the stars, learn from the best, share stories around the fire, and leave already planning next year's Muster.
New Zealand already has world-class adventure riding. The Muster exists to celebrate that — not import an overseas festival format that exists because other countries don't have what we've got.
Growth is welcome. Growth is never the point. The point is an event people genuinely want to come back to.
I've learnt through riding with vast numbers of often random riders — the ones I've had the pleasure of meeting as they pass by our pub — that adventure riding is more than just the adventure. Almost all of the riders I've had the privilege to ride with have been genuine good buggers.
The idea of the Muster is to give good buggers an excuse for more time in the seat, with a reward of having the largest gathering of good buggers at the end — to share yarns, learn some new skills, look at the latest available kit, and experience the true beauty our outdoors has to offer.
And let's not forget the most important factor: have a bloody great time. Fun makes the world go round.
